1 Dead, 1 Injured In Hubbard Park Crash

A motorcyclist was killed and a driver was injured in another tragic incident in Connecticut. According to a report from Dec. 10, the police were called at around 5:13 p.m. on Sunday. There was a report that a motorcyclist and SUV had been involved in a collision.

Like with many other motorcycle crashes, this one also involved a motorcyclist striking the SUV's side. This time, the motorcyclist, a 53-year-old man, was heading west on West Main Street when an SUV started to make a left-hand turn into Hubbard Park's entrance.

He was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision and struck the side of the Nissan Rogue. When police arrived, they found the man face-down on the road. Two off-duty nurses who were already at the scene were attempting to assist.

The man suffered serious injuries including neck, chest, and head injuries. He passed away a short time later at Midstate Hospital.

Motorcycle crashes like this one are typically avoidable. It is always important for drivers to be aware that motorcyclists could be present at any time of year. If a driver plans to turn across a lane of traffic, they must be cautious and double-check that there is no traffic incoming. It is not always easy to see a motorcyclist, which could result in a motorist making a turn in front of them.

If you are hurt in a crash like this, know that you can seek compensation. Whether you lose a loved one or are hurt yourself, there are legal options open for you to explore.
