B.A. University of Connecticut
J.D. Western New England University, School of Law

Kathleen E. Scelfo graduated from the University of Connecticut, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She received her Juris Doctorate from Western New England University School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts, and is licensed to practice before Connecticut’s state courts.

While earning her undergraduate degree, Attorney Scelfo served as an intern for the judges of the Superior Court for Juvenile Matters in Willimantic, Connecticut. Throughout law school, she worked as a law clerk at a civil litigation firm in West Hartford, where her work focused primarily on personal injury, medical malpractice, and legal malpractice. In her third year of law school, she also served as a certified legal intern at the State’s Attorney’s office in the Tolland Judicial District, where she conducted arraignments and assisted in a variety of other criminal proceedings, including criminal trials. Following law school graduation and prior to joining Budlong & Budlong, she served as a legal research clerk to the judges of Connecticut’s Superior Courts, where she attended court proceedings and worked closely with judges, advising them on the applicable law and appropriate resolutions of legal issues.

Attorney Scelfo is focusing her practice on family law as well as general civil litigation. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the CBA Young Lawyers Section.
